Canon by Purcell

This canon is taken from a piece by Henry Purcell. A former teacher of one of my students took it from one of his pieces, and I wrote it out in two different keys. The original piece was most likely not for cello trio! If you happen to know which piece this canon derives from, I'd love to know!

This is a great early piece to play since it's based on scales, and although the piece is fairly simple it sounds great when played in a canon.

There are no fingerings in the music, but there are fingerings on the scales at the bottom of the page. If you feel like inserting fingerings into the music to make it easier to learn, please do so! Some like to write D4, C3 etc, while others write only the numbers. Totally up to you.

The play-through/play-along is at the very beginning of the video. The tutorial starts after 5 and a half minutes.
