Open Strings Adventure

If you find the rhythm challenging in itself you can learn a lot from simply watching the video and follow the music while getting used to the rhythm only.

You can also practice to different speeds on the metronome. Print out the music and set your metronome to 40 or 50.

See if you can anticipate the rhythmic changes - feel the triplets or sixteenth-notes on the beat that precedes them.

I use very short bows in this video, since it's easier to control the rhythm when the bow strokes are shorter.

Try different contact points on the bow to find an area where you feel more in control. It's likely closer to the frog than to the tip.

You can download the music here.
